Season of Change

Season of Change

12/12/2011

As of right now the Team 1HD Sprinter is sitting without a schedule or driver for the 2012 season. Some may or may not know that team owner Steve Staerk will be undergoing open heart surgery in January.
Driver Jason Tostenson was offered a ride from another team and Driver and Owner agreed it was probably best he take that oppurtunity. According to team owner Steve Staerk, "After talking to Jason at length, I could not offer Jason anything comparable to what he had on the table." Jason is a great guy and right now I am not sure if we will race 2 times next season or 20 times. Jason has done a great job wheeling the 1HD sprinter and he deserves a shot at a full season. As for the 1HD sprinters 2012 future, alot is gonna depend on sponsorships and how quickly I recover from this ordeal." Team 1HD would really like to thank Jason Tostenson for all his hard work, performance, and his great attitude he brought to the team! One thing is certain, when Team 1HD hits the track again, it will be fast with the same determination it has always had!!

Team 1HD would also like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Kenny Chapman Passes Away..

It is with great sadness we bring the news of former 1HD driver and friend Kenny Chapman's passing.. Kenny was the 1984 Jackson Speedway Unlimited Sprint Car Champion. Kenny last drove in 2006 for the late Reiny Staerk. Kenny won races all over the Midwest and Canada and was a true outlaw that raced anywhere anytime during the 1980's. Kenny was one of the great one's. He will be forever missed, and many thoughts and prayers go out to Kenny's family at this time..

Team 1HD Unplugged!

9/8/2011

The Jackson Nationals were a complete bust for the 1HD sprinter! The heat race saw the #2 spark plug wire came off and in the b-main the #6 wire came off!! The teams next race would come 2 weeks later and again #6 wire falls off. We did manage to get the problem solved and we had the car really good in the feature, but starting in the back after throwing the first part of the night away was to much to overcome! Driver Jason Tostenson was able to make a few good moves and get the car stuck in the Top Ten.
The team is looking forward to getting back out on Sept. 24th in Jackson, Mn for what will be the teams last run of the year. We feel pretty good about the Set-up of the car that we managed to find in all the chaos of trying to keep the motor lit! Be sure to check back after the 24th for a full re-cap and season review!
